Congratulations on your forthcoming wedding. There is so much to plan and do in preparation for your big day and we want to make your experience in choosing your wedding cake the very best.
You may already have an idea of what design you would like or you may be looking for ideas, either way we can assist in ensuring your wedding cake or wedding cup cakes are spectacular.
I offer wedding cake samples for you to take home and enjoy in your own time, this ensures that firstly you can ensure that the cakes I bake are delicious (and they will be) and you can also get some idea of flavours you would like for your cake or cakes for the day.
Here are some of my latest wedding cakes:

How can I place a wedding cake order
I generally receive enquiries either via phone or email, often along with images and ideas, asking about wedding cake pricing and my availability to make a wedding cake. The pricing I provide is an estimate and is often the final price if you have made a firm decision on a particular cake. Pricing can vary depending upon any extras i.e. cake toppers that we discuss at the wedding meeting.
How I calculate the cost of your wedding cake
The cost of a basic iced cake covered in either white or ivory icing, finished with ribbon trim in your choice of colour on an iced board. For example:
Cost for the basic iced cake covered in either white or ivory icing, finished with a ribbon trim in your choice of colour on an iced board will be:
*Prices shown are for the basic iced cake as above and does not include any decoration or cake topper.
Transporting and setting up the cake
I include transporting and setting up the cake at your venue which will be within a 5 mile radius of Swindon. I leave the cake boxes at the venue (usually under the table that the cake is set up on, and out of sight). The cake will be set up either the evening prior to or on the day of the wedding. I always speak with the wedding planner or co-ordinator to arrange the best time.
If you are taking the cake to a venue outside of Swindon, then I shall secure the cake set up in a box suitable for the journey. Please ensure that the cake can be transported on a flat surface (ideally the boot of the car) and that there is enough height so the cake does not get squashed or damaged. Once the cake has left my premises, I cannot be responsible if any damage occurs during transit.
Cake Flavours and Allergens
There are many flavours to choose and if there is something you do not see on the list that you would like, then please let me know and I will make your cake dream come true. Cake flavours and fillings can be viewed by clicking on this link.
None of the cakes from Lace Cakes can completely nut free. I do not add nuts to sponge cakes, however the icing or other ingredients may have been prepared in an area where nuts have also been prepared.
So how do you order your wedding cake? Prior to placing your order the following should be taken into consideration:
Meeting to discuss your requirements
Once you have taken into consideration the above information. I would love to meet with you to discuss your requirements in more detail.
I would like to bring along a selection of cake samples to the meeting for you to try. If you live outside of Swindon and cannot make a meeting until closer to your wedding, then I am happy to send cake samples to you via post.
At our meeting, we can discuss all of the above points and I can answer any questions that you may have about your cake.
Once you have tried and have approved the wedding samples and have made the choice of flavours and fillings, you are then ready to book your cake. I always take a deposit and this secures the booking for that day. The deposit will vary depending greatly on the size and cost of your cake.
Once the deposit has been paid I will write a letter or email of confirmation which will include full details of the cake design, flavour and fillings. It will include the date of your wedding, the name of your wedding venue and the name of the person or persons who are organising your wedding along with contact telephone numbers, I shall need to contact the said persons prior to the wedding and on the day or day before your wedding to discuss bringing in the cake and setting it up.
The outstanding payment should be made no later than a week prior to your wedding. Payment can be made via bank transfer, I do not accept cheques.
I welcome questions at any time from your booking to your wedding day. Changes can be made to the design of your cake up to 3 weeks prior to your wedding. Change of cake flavours can be made up to 1 week prior to your wedding (for sponge cakes only).
I hope that you have found this information useful. Please do not hesitate to get in touch with any questions. I do have some dates left this year and I am also taking bookings for next year. On the odd occasion I can accommodate ‘urgent wedding cake orders”, please contact me to see if I can help.
